A number of readers have noted that Microsoft has quietly added a number of new (and, as always, free) Zune HD games and app to the Zune Marketplace. I wouldn’t get too excited about this per se, but it’s nice to see something happening there. It’s been a while since I looked at the Zune game/app situation, so some of the stuff here dates back several months, but here’s a sampling of the newish content that’s been added, in reverse chronological order.
Castles and Cannons. Added September 30, 2010.

Besides Facebook and Twitter, can we expect to see games/apps to show up (for free) on Windows Phone 7? I’d at least like to have Solitaire since I have that on my Windows Mobile phone now.
You know, I’m honestly not sure about that. I would be surprised if Microsoft didn’t offer some free stuff though.
I’m hoping, in particular, that some of these games/apps might show up for free. I figure they shouldn’t be too hard to port over to WP7. But I’m with you; I’d be surprised if Microsoft didn’t have some cool stuff for free in the Marketplace. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
I think Windows Live Messenger for Windows Phone 7 will be free and maybe it looks like the Zune App. ;-)
was thinking of the same thing. The Labyrinth and card games look quite nice
Paul I have all the apps what I would want to know is how the Messenger app compares to the one on Windows Phone 7.
This is very nice…though I have gone Android because the wait for WP7 was been too long, I still use my Zune daily as my main music player. I just wish the Facebook App on the Zune worked well. It seems like when you go to see more posts, it skips like 7 hours…
I would love to see some parity in apps between the Zune HD and WP7. I would be willing to pay for some too. The free apps thus far have been of really good quality. I would also love to see video support in the browser. That just seems ridiculous.
